I am working on catching up this blog. I am kinda doing it backwards.....imagine that! I will be finishing up 2009 soon! Hopefully! Then I hope to blog in REAL time again!!! Yea right!!!

Stealing kisses!!!

I just had to post this picture!!
Melee is blowing Josy a kiss and Josy is catching it!!!
They love each other so much!!!

Josy has lost another tooth!

This makes the third! I have NEVER seen a child just pull their own teeth, but she does! She got 4 quarters this time from the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy told me when she went to get the tooth from under Josy's pillow she had to pry it out of her hand. Josy was holding onto the baggie that contained the tooth for dear life. She was hoping to catch the fairy this time......If you remember last time Josy couldn't help but wonder why her dollar had a star on it. This time she took each quarter out of the baggie and smelled it. Yea smelled it! Believe it or not she thought two of them smelled just like fairy dust! LOL!! Wonder what she thought the other two smelled like?

Death is all around......

This month so far we have experienced a lot of loss. My aunt Sue died, Tammie's 49 year old fiance died, my mom's best friend's daughter died and my 38 year old step-sister passed away unexpectedly. I sit here and type and watch the girls play in the floor beside me and think. I know that I have always realized we are never promised tomorrow but with all the death it is so REAL right now. I am watching the ones I love dearest in this world go through something that has overwhelmed them with the deepest kind of sorrow. I sit, pray and listen. What else can I do? I feel helpless......But, I am so thankful that they all have a strong relationship with the author of comfort, our LORD Jesus. I ask you to join me in praying for these dear ones who are suffering.

The little things.......

The girls were playing hide and seek. I was sitting in Melee's floor putting away clothes. I could hear them giggling. I am thankful! I mean belly laughing. Josy had found Melee! Such a sweet sight of the love between sisters! Then all of a sudden Josy tells Melee it is her time to try and find her. Little Melee walks over to her crib, covers her eyes and acts like she is counting. So cute!!! It is the little things like this I hope I never forget as long as I live! Thank you God for blessing me with my family!!!!

Another Milestone Achieved!!!

Josy Girl learning to ride her bicycle without training wheels!!!
Notice Melee...she doesn't want to miss anything.
Oh and she is ALMOST naked again. She put those panties on herself.
She took off her diaper and came out of her room like this.......
You can really see the way she STUDIES things in this picture. She is wondering if she could ride that bike too!!!
Just cause I love this picture.

Phases in life....

I walked into the living room and thought to myself..... this is a KODAK moment. I ran to get my camera. This was so cute of the girls laying watching cartoons! I had been folding clothes and had noticed the silence in the house. I knew I had better go check on the munchkins! This is what I found. Innocent enough, right? That is what I thought too. After I took the picture I walked over to give them a kiss. Melee was naked. Yes naked....no diaper.....nothing! I sure hope this is just a phase! LOL!!!!

Easter

This was the picture of my babies before church on Easter. Johnathan looks like his dog just got run over. He has NEVER liked having his picture taken. I make him every once and a while because I get so tired of him saying.....you never take pictures of me.....just can't win!!! I love him! On the way to church this morning we each told what we were thankful for.....It was neat to do that. We get so busy rushing through life we forget to tell the ones we love how special they are to us! I love each of my children so much. I pray I tell them all the time and they NEVER doubt how important and special they are to me!!!!!

Easter at our house!!!

The girls waiting for everyone to arrive.
We had so much fun spending time with family!
Hope everyone had a BLESSED Easter!!

Tradition!!

Every year at Easter we always walk down in the field and pick the daffodils. I picked the very same daffodils when I was a young girl. I can still remember my papaw taking me out in the field and letting me pick them. The reason I pick the flowers has changed since I was a girl. I use to pick them because they were pretty. You know how I love beautiful things ;)! But now I am a woman with children and I like to watch them in the field picking the flowers. I like to remember my dear papaw who took me to pick the flowers every Spring. I am so pleased to be able to share this tradition with my kids. Maybe one day, just maybe there will be a field full of my great great grandchildren picking the flowers and remembering......silly........ I know!

What a girl!!!!

Melee LOVES books! She likes to pretend she is reading. She picks up the newspaper, magazines, anything that has print and acts like she is reading it. I love to watch her take her little fingers and flip through the pages. She also holds a magazine and uses her thumb to flip through it. She is becoming quite the big girl!!! Love this one! Look how her hair has grown! Pig tails here we come!!! Notice the shoes! She ALWAYS has a pair of Josy's shoes on.
Usually they don't match!

She throws kisses and waves bye bye!

Melee is progressing so well. She gets along well with her sister. Although she can squeel like a stuck pig if she doesn't get her way. She is learning to share. Big Sister, Josy, is doing so well with her. Josy likes to give Melee her way and thus contributing to the squeeling problem. When I correct Melee it upsets Josy. She pleads with me to just let Melee have her way. This is so sweet, but what a problem it will cause later if not taken care of.....I am thankful to be the mom of these two precious girl and one handsome young man!!!

Melee is humming words!

I have never seen a baby that hums her words. It is so cute. She does say a few words but she still communicates a lot by pointing and grunting. I am a little to blame for this......I allow her to grunt. I know I am bad, but she is the baby!!! She is so sweet and I can't help it. Tonight I told her to go get me a diaper and she did. She brought it to me and then laid down on the floor for a me to change her diaper. I have tried potty training just a little. She knows where to put the poopie and pee-pee. She will even take you to the potty and point to let you know she knows where it goes. She just will not go on the potty, yet! She will!!

Sisters!

No Barbie car for these girls!
Josy gets out and pushes when they get stuck! I wonder how long before Josy will make Melee get out and take her turn pushing?

You are our SUNSHINE!!!!

Josy has 2 teeth pulled!

My Josy girl had to have 2 teeth pulled. She was very brave! I went with her and Darrell took Melee to have her stitches out of her lip. It was so hard not being able to be there for both of them. We let Josy decide who went with her because she knew more about what was going on and she was very scared. We sit her down and told her that me and daddy had a very hard decision to make. The decision was hard because we both wanted to be with each of our girls, but that wasn't possible. Josy was in A LOT of pain and we couldn't make her wait! So we told her since she was oldest she could decide who went with her. I am thankful that she chose me because she really needed me. She had never been under sedation and she had a tough time of it. Melee did great and as soon as she came back from the OR she was getting her shoes and ready to come home! She only had a little gas so she was full speed ahead!!! This is the first time we have had to split our attention when both of our girls were in such need. It was SOOOO HARD!!! Hopefully we can always make wise decisions that make each of our children feel secure and loved. Because they certainly are and I would never want them to feel otherwise!

Melee's lip revision surgery

She loved playing with the curtain in her room.
She was in such a good humor! I was a wreck! As you can imagine! The nurse getting her vitals before the "happy juice!" After surgery....she did great! I was so relieved when it was over for her. I hate to think about any of my children being in pain. The doctor said she couldn't have any solid food for 2 weeks. He also said she probably wouldn't want to eat for a few days and that would be fine. Well, I'll have you know she ate the same day as her surgery. She wasn't going to let a little surgery slow her down. She will be miserable having only soft foods for the next two weeks! Wish us luck!!! Thanks for all the prayers!
